I bought the trap bar that also holds 6 plates and a collar. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the stance inside the diamond. You have to use a narrow stance to clear the legs. I guess if they made them wider, you would have to wide of a grip.

I have got done with a set before and the inside of my forearms were almost bloody from riding against my quads during the set. Funny how it was never noticed while doing the set
Agreed that a bit more width on these things between the handles would be good for many lifters.

Have you used a shrug bar like the link halfway posted shows IA? That's what I was using, and mind you I'm not a big guy by any stretch, but it did have a decent amount of room.

I have the one with the raised handles. Is there any difference between that and the one in the link? Other than the rom will be slightly less with the raised handles of course. I'm wondering it it's worth getting one without the raised handles. Never even noticed the difference between the two until I got mine.

I have an original "gerard" trap bar. The original.
The raised handles are USUALLY good for 40-70 lbs more weight due to the decresed ROM.

That kind of stinks IMO. I rather go deeper in the hole. I'll have to try using 25lb plates or stand on a platform to increase rom. I saw the other type on ebay with free shipping so maybe I'll just get a new one.

Overload,
There is nothing wrong with the high handle bar. Stand on a 25 and you get the same ROM, use it normally and you get some OVERLOAD.

Good idea about standing on some plates. Instant platform I will try that for tomorrow's workout.
Thanks for talking me down... before I spent more money
